Members of the UW Board of Regents were silent in response to our pleading to save the nationally historic nuclear reactor building on the University of Washington campus. On June 20, a contractor began deconstructing the building without a demolition permit. The city of Seattle subsequently issued a permit and adopted a streamlined design process, avoiding open comment from the public and any chance to appeal. The nationally historic and state registered building was destroyed on July 19. Please join us on August 9, starting at 5:30 pm, immediately west of the previous More Hall Annex for a celebration of life of the Nuclear Reactor Building, 1961 - 2016.
