Kerala has been witnessing several ragging incidents, especially the Kochi Mihir Ahmed Case which came to limelight to the World. Then, the Kottayam Nursing College ragging incident where the victim was brutally ragged which is scary to even think of it. Also, a student's hand was fractured because he did not respect his seniors. The future of Kerala is being endangered and scared to attend classes as they think they will also get ragged similar to this. According to Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act 1998, the perpetrators will be fined up to Rs. 10,000 and even imprisonment up to 2 years. Also, the penalty adds with the dismissal of the student(s) involved in ragging of a student and ban from admitting in any educational institute for 3 years. This needs to be reached to the concerned authorities. Although, they claim they are taking action, the victims' kin still did not get its justice. They need to swift up the process without unnecessary political interventions. As a student myself who was born in Kerala and growing up in Maharashtra, I care for my homeland. If it delays, many more will happen and the students' life and future will be at stake.
