Stop Racism and Bullying in Our Community

The issue

Many of my closest friends come from multicultural backgrounds, and I’ve seen up close the pain they go through because of racism and bullying. It breaks my heart to hear the hurtful names they are called or how they’re sometimes compared to animals like monkeys — words that cut deep and leave lasting wounds. No one should ever feel less than because of their race or where they come from. Everyone deserves to feel safe, loved, and respected just for being themselves.

Racism and bullying aren’t distant problems — they happen all around us, sometimes even in places where we expect to feel safe, like schools and neighborhoods. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, many people from multicultural communities have faced an alarming rise in hostility and unfair treatment. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, about 60% of adults from diverse backgrounds in the U.S. have experienced racial slurs or jokes. Imagine living in constant worry — afraid to walk down the street or go to school simply because of your heritage. That fear is real, and it’s deeply unfair.

We need to come together and create communities and schools where everyone can feel safe and supported. I believe that we can teach kindness, empathy, and respect — not just as words, but as everyday actions. Schools should have programs that help students understand each other’s cultures and experiences, so we can break down ignorance and build true friendships. It’s also important for schools to have strong rules that protect everyone from bullying and racial harassment, so no one ever feels alone or scared.

When you sign this petition, you’re standing up for a world where everyone can be proud of who they are. You’re saying that you believe in a community where our differences are celebrated and every person is treated with dignity. This isn’t just a piece of paper — it’s a promise to stand together against hate and make our schools and neighbourhoods places of kindness and acceptance.

Let’s work hand in hand to build a future where no one has to hide or be afraid. Please join me in this important cause by signing the petition. Together, we can create real change — a change that brings hope, safety, and respect to all.
