Stop Puppy Factories. Breeders Exposed UK-2024

The Issue

Puppy Factories in the U.K. have not been banned! They are now operating under a new title - Licensed Breeders.
There are Licensed Breeders in the UK in 2024 who are legally allowed hundreds of dogs, kept purely for the huge profit they make, resulting in thousands of puppies every year.
Furnish Kennels in Northern Ireland (The UK Dog Breeding Academy-900 dogs) is just one of these places.
The breeding females in such places are kept in horrible conditions, conditions that you nor I would ever keep a dog in.
They are kept in at best, pens, cells, like prisoners. They are fed through automatic feeders like cattle. They have little to no human contact, and are often cruelly treated and abused. These poor dogs don’t get stroked, kissed or cuddled. They don’t get to play. They don’t get toys, and wouldn’t know what to do with them if they did. No treats, no long sniffy walks in the countryside or parks. They don’t get any of the things the U.K. dog loving public would expect for our own dogs, our companion animals.
Dogs in puppy factories are bred litter after litter, season after season until they are unable to breed anymore. What happens to them after that? Death. Unless they are lucky enough to be rescued in the nick of time by one of our wonderful dog rescue centres, they are put to death.
These puppies are sold in places like Kelly’s Kennels in Warrington and Douglas Hall Farm in Pendle. They fake respectability by shouting about the fact they are licensed, when in reality they are in effect pet shops supplied by puppy factories.  The puppies are taken away from the mother in the Hell Hole she lives in, and masqueraded in front of you and I in faked surroundings with ‘friendly’ staff.
Our attention is often focused on the puppy, we don’t mean to, but sometimes we are not considering the Mother, because we assume such treatment would never be allowed in our supposedly civilised country.
If you didn’t know about this, or did and don’t think it’s right, please, please share to spread awareness.
Please get a conversation going about this awful subject, and remind each other to never, ever buy a puppy if we cannot see it interacting with its mother with our own eyes, being kept in the kind of conditions we want our own dogs kept in. Visit more than once, be vigilant. If you wouldn’t keep your own dog in a prison cell, please make sure your puppy’s mother wasn’t either. Let’s hold ourselves responsible for ensuring our puppies Mother is ok, and not just her babies. Thank you.
