Sperr Memorial Park was created in memory of AJ Sperr, a NYS trooper that gave his life in the line of duty. The park is loved by many. Families use the park and picnic area for many activities, including hiking, bird watching, and winter activities. It is considered by many the most peaceful park in this area. Many families utilize the beautiful setting for family photo opportunities. 

A proposal has been made to build a travel plaza adjacent to this beautiful space. The natural serenity that Sperr Park provides will be disturbed. The amount of traffic will affect the safety of those who have depended on this area for recreation.
