I've made some edits to the petition which are pertinant. These edits reflect points made by the community. These points are as follows:

Infringement of our low density status: 

Anne Arundel county has designated the Riva area as a Neighborhood Preservation / Planned Land use / Residential Low density area. This designation limits new development, and allows for public investment in walking and biking infrastructure. Future development will be catered to low density. The increased traffic burden as described above will strain our “low density” roads. 

Failure of Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC) to consider the Geographic location and Public need: 

Per an article published in “Sportshandle,” the SWARC’s review process considers whether awarding a license is in the public’s best interest, and makes geographic considerations. The points made about traffic, “Neighborhood preservation” status and safety show that awarding “Michael's on the South River” a sports betting license is not in our (the public) best interest, nor was geography fully considered. 

Additionally, SWARC has already awarded 10 online sports betting licenses, and 5 Maryland Casinos sports betting licenses. There is no "public need" for yet another in our low density / Neighborhood preservation community.

The same article in "Sporthandle" states that the SWARC has rescheduled meetings or delayed decisions in the past. We've been unsuccessful getting hold of the committee members.
