Thanks to everyone for speaking out against the proposed rezoning and development at Stanhope Stables!

The proposal is currently being reviewed by the town planning board. There is no hearing scheduled yet. But many of us plan to attend the Town Board meeting on Tuesday, June 13, to voice our concerns to the board. The meeting begins at 7 pm. If you wish to attend, it's recommended that you arrive early, and if you wish to speak, sign up by 6:15.

CORRECTION: My apologies for a mistake in the last update! I used Chat GPT to do some research on the equine history of West Hills, and it told me that Secretariat, Seabiscuit and War Admiral had been bred or raised here. This is totally not true! Possibly they were stabled here when they came from Kentucky to race at Belmont. Darn you, Chat GPT! The moral of this story: ALWAYS check your sources! :)
