Sutton Park is widely renowned as our popular and publicly owned civic park. It's been in public hands for many, many generations, a place for healthy walks, family outings, picnics, community events, and outdoor activities for families and nature lovers in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. 

It's publicly owned  for the benefit of the nation - a National Nature Reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest, and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.  It's the region's most popular 'people's park' - but all that is now under serious threat!

Sutton Town Council and the local MP have instructed that they want it transferred out of public hands and into the private ownership of an unaccountable Private Trust.  They specifically state that the "freehold ownership" should be surrendered to this Private Trust in perpetuity. 

We need to stop this scandal. By signing this petition, to the Sutton Town Council and Birmingham, City Council, you are voicing your commitment to a public park, publicly owned and publicly accountable.
