On December 10th, the City of Villa Rica voted to proceed with plans to construct a road through Cleghorn-Anderson, despite serious concerns about potential misconduct by previous administrations in entering into contracts with developers, including failing to properly involve or seek input from residents. The vote authorized city staff to begin easement and acquisition negotiations, but residents justifiably fear that the city may resort to eminent domain to seize their property. The City Manager acknowledged this possibility, stating, “Eminent domain is a conversation.”
