The Issue

As a resident of Kailua-Kona, HI. I am deeply concerned about the detrimental impact that Parklinq and its CEO, Tyler Saenz, are having on our community. It is evident that their attempt to monopolize paid parking in our beloved town will have severe consequences for local businesses and hardworking individuals.

Tyler Saenz seems oblivious to the fact that charging for parking will kill businesses in the area. We have already witnessed the negative effects of his company's actions on the Papa Kona and Kai Eats area. It is clear that he is not creating jobs either; instead, he is only further burdening our community.

In particular, Coconut Grove plans to charge documented and proven employees a staggering $100.00 just to park! This exorbitant fee places an unfair burden on those who work tirelessly at Coconut Grove. These employees should not be forced to pay such an outrageous amount simply to do their jobs. Sidenote, they want employees to pay $100.00 yet Parklinq's signs say they are not responsible for damage or theft done to vehicles under their management! (Catch 22)

Personally, this issue hits close to home as I have numerous friends and family members who work in Downtown Kailua-Kona. My wife is one of them - she cannot afford to pay for parking every day just so she can go to work. It pisses me off knowing that Tyler Saenz, an outsider from Las Vegas who doesn't even live in Kona or understand our community's needs, has initiated this harmful endeavor from O'ahu.

Tyler Saenz's sob story about founding Parklinq may be nothing more than a ploy. He claims he wants what's best for our town but his actions speak otherwise. We don't need someone like him coming here with dollar signs in his eyes while disregarding the well-being of our community.

We must stand together against Parklinq's attempt at monopolizing paid parking in Kailua-Kona. Let us send a clear message to Tyler Saenz that his presence and actions are not welcome here. We demand that he immediately cease his operations in our town and return to Las Vegas where he belongs.

Sign this petition to say NO to Parklinq and tell Tyler Saenz to GO BACK TO LAS VEGAS! Together, we can protect the livelihoods of our local businesses, employees, and the vibrant spirit of Kona Town!
