Stop overcharging truck drivers for unnecessary repairs
The Issue
On September 22, 2026, I, Kevin Johnson, an owner-operator truck driver, faced a shocking ordeal at Rush Truck Centers in Phoenix, Arizona. My 2020 Peterbilt was held for eight long days, and at the end of it, I was handed a staggering bill of $5,843.44. This included an outrageous $3,960.62 charge to replace a fuse box they claimed was corroded. But there was no corrosion. Instead, the real issue was a simple one: a loose ground wire and two empty fuse slots. A problem I resolved myself, driving nearly 4,000 miles since without a hitch.
This experience is not isolated. I have gathered around 25 similar complaints against various Rush Truck Centers locations across eight cities. Time and again, hardworking truckers are being pushed into financial corners, forced to pay for repair jobs they do not need.
Truck drivers form the backbone of our nation’s logistics infrastructure. When we are sidelined with needless repairs, our livelihoods and the tightly woven supply chain are threatened. Trucks stuck in the shop mean lost income, delayed deliveries, and added stress to an already demanding job.
Truck repair honesty and transparency should not be discretionary. Rush Truck Centers must address these unfair practices and implement clear, transparent diagnostic processes. Independent audits and accessible complaint lines could help ensure that only necessary repairs are recommended and performed.
As a community, we must demand accountability. Your signature on this petition will push for better practices and ensure our truck systems run smoothly without the fear of exploitation. Stand with us to ensure fairness and transparency within the truck repair industry. Let's protect our road warriors who keep America moving.
Sign this petition today to urge Rush Truck Centers to put an end to overcharging and to commit to fair and honest service for every truck driver in need.
