Stop Organized Vehicle Theft and Protect our Communities

Stop Organized Vehicle Theft and Protect our Communities
The Issue
"We've become a global donor in stolen vehicles...there's more cars being stolen in Canada than there are in the U.S. … that gives you the sense of the magnitude of this issue." (Michael Rothe of the Canadian Financing and Leasing Association)

Dear Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Transport and Quebec Lieutenant,
This is not about cars. It's about feeling safe in our communities.
Over the past two years, thousands of Canadians have woken up to a shocking reality - their cars, stolen right out of their driveways by organized crime rings while they slept. This is NOT an isolated incident but a widespread issue that has seen vehicle theft rates skyrocketing, up 18-50% in 2022 across the country. Even more alarming is the increase in carjackings, which are up 104% over 2021. The common denominator in these crimes? Organized crime.
Our communities are under threat and it's time for the federal government to take decisive action to stop criminals from stealing our cars. We need modernized legislation that addresses this new wave of crime and additional resources dedicated to tackling this issue head-on.
The safety of our communities depends on swift action against organized vehicle theft. It's time for us all to stand together and demand change from those who have the power to make it happen.
On February 8th the federal government is getting together to talk about this. Sign this petition today and join us in calling on the federal government to prioritize community safety by taking real steps against organized vehicle theft.
