Today, our community group officially submitted a formal Asset of Community Value (ACV) application to Norwich City Council (NCC) to legally protect the St Peters Street Motorcycle Parking Facility! 📝🏍️
Thanks to your incredible continued support and the momentum from over 2,900 signatures, we have presented a watertight case to the council. Our application didn’t just highlight the site's 90-year history—it proved that this space is a vital tool for combating urban loneliness, an economic lifeline for our independent Norwich Market traders, and a low-carbon asset that protects the delicate Norman archaeology underneath the surface.
What happens next?
The 8-Week Clock Starts: NCC now has a legal deadline of 8 weeks to assess our application and make a decision.
We Are the Custodians: We have made it clear to the planning department that motorcycles will be used in Norwich way beyond our generation, and we are acting as proud custodians to ensure this historic hub remains open to everyone.
Thank you to every single person who has signed, shared, and supported the Stop Norwich Bike Park Changes campaign so far. We could not have reached this milestone without you.
Keep sharing the petition, and we will update you the second we hear back from the council's planning team! 👊
I have had the petition QR codes put onto a polo shirt and sweatshirt as I'm off to the Farmyard Party in 2 weeks and then the ABR Festival the week after that - likely a few thousand more signatures coming our way and Norwich Bike Park a little more on the map :-)
