While the Council pays lip service to "public consultation," the workmen are already on-site at the St Peters Street bike park.

On Saturday, contractors were spotted digging investigatory trial pits right where we park our bikes. When questioned, they confirmed it’s a subsurface investigation.

In plain English: Are they are measuring up for the new foundations????

Is the Council moving ahead with the market revamp before they’ve even answered our Heritage Enquiry???

This is a slap in the face to the 90-year history of this site and to every person who signed this petition. Are they spending our taxpayer money on technical surveys to replace our social hub with "event space" and "extra seating" while we are still demanding a Heritage Impact Assessment.

We need to turn up the heat:

The "Secret" Dig: Did they do this on a weekend, hoping no one would notice. We noticed.

Pre-emptive Strike: If so, does digging trial pits prove they have zero intention of listening to the 900+ people who raised concerns.

Demand Answers: We are updating our formal letter to the Norwich Planning Department to demand why physical works are commencing while the heritage value of the site remains unassessed.

They think this is a "done deal." Let’s show them it isn’t.
