STOP North Yorks Council and ensure the Ryedale CIL fund is distributed fairly in RYEDALE

The Issue

Ryedale District Council (RDC) held a £3m fund made up of payments into the Construction Infrastructure Levy. This money was paid by developers to enable the council to help the people of Ryedale.

Ryedale District Council ceased to exist from 1 April 2023 and became part of the newly formed North Yorkshire Council (NYC)

The new council are refusing to distribute this money to worthy community causes in Ryedale. These causes have been through a stringent application process with RDC and were deemed successful. However, NYC are stating that the process was unlawful (it wasn’t).

We are all now fighting for these funds that will make significant differences to the people of Ryedale that use the facilities.

The causes that have been affected are:

Ryedale Special Families

Kirkham Henry Performing Arts Community Interest Company

Helmsley Pool

Slingsby Sports Club

Ryedale School

Norton College

Pickering Recreation Club

Malton School

Malton Town Council

Kirkbymoorside Town Council

Ryedale Environment Group

If some of these organisations don’t receive the money they were allocated they simply may not survive which would be detrimental to the people of Ryedale.

Please sign and show your support to stop NYC executive from keeping Ryedale’s money. They are set to make their final decision on 19 June 2023!
