Hello! This is A’magine. I’m the director of the new documentary At Your Cervix revealing the horrific secret of non-consensual pelvic exams on unconscious patients. Thank you for signing our petition to end non-consensual pelvic exams in New Mexico–and beyond. We are now at nearly 125,000 signers because you have helped us spread the word and took the time to sign.
I want to share with you several updates on our work to pass laws to end this practice:
- The New Mexico law is being written and is already on the docket and I’ll be testifying in the Fall. Senator Sedillo-Lopez is committed to passing the strongest legislation yet in the U.S. on this issue and we are thrilled!
- We are already meeting with multiple Colorado lawmakers who are interested in working on a law in Colorado.
- We have identified the next several states we are going after and they are the ones with the most medical schools. Stay tuned for more on that! We won’t stop until we get laws to protect patients in all 50 states.
This petition goes far beyond the state of New Mexico and because of the strength of this petition and thanks to your signature, we can now show policymakers around the country how much their constituents care about this issue.
At Your Cervix is the first documentary to bring these horrific teaching practices to light and after over a decade of work, the film will soon be released. Because of your support with the petition, I have two things to ask you to do to assist us in getting this film out to the public, so we create a sea change in policy and medical education:

We are truly heartened by the strong response to this issue. In a time when many of us are feeling defeated around reproductive health and abortion access, this is a hopeful place where we can see real change happening for the better.
