Qytetarë zgjohuni, Pogradeci është në rrezik.

Një projekt shumëkatësh planifikohet të ndërtohet në zonën e ish-Turizmit/Oktapodit, në breg të Liqenit të Ohrit – një pasuri natyrore e mbrojtur nga UNESCO. Projekti përfshin ndërtime me disa kulla, përfshirë një godinë 27-katëshe, vetëm pak metra larg liqenit.

Ky “zhvillim” i shitet publikut si përparim turistik, por në të vërtetë do të sjellë:

❌ Betonizim dhe shkatërrim të bregut natyror të liqenit

❌ Ndërprerje të pamjes dhe aksesit në liqen për banorët

❌ Dëm të parikuperueshëm ndaj biodiversitetit dhe ekosistemit ujor

❌ Ndotje të ajrit, ujit dhe tokës për shkak të gërmimeve dhe ndërtimeve masive

Ky projekt po realizohet në mungesë totale transparence nga Bashkia e Pogradecit dhe pa konsultim publik. Ndërkohë që toka është private, liqeni dhe natyra nuk janë prona private. Janë pasuri kolektive.

Qytetarët e Pogradecit, të gjithë shqiptarët dhe dashamirësit e natyrës, po ngrejnë zërin kundër këtij krimi urban dhe ekocidi.Pogradeci nuk ka nevojë për kulla. Ka nevojë për zhvillim të qëndrueshëm, etik dhe në harmoni me natyrën dhe historinë e tij.

2.     Transparencë të plotë dhe publikim të dokumentacionit urbanistik

3.     Ndërhyrje nga UNESCO dhe institucionet shtetërore për të mbrojtur liqenin

STOP the high-rise complex on Lake Ohrid’s shoreline in Pogradec!

Citizens, wake up !!! Pogradec is under threat.
A multi-tower development is planned on the site of the former Turizmi and Oktapodi zone—right on the shore of Lake Ohrid, a UNESCO-protected World Natural Heritage Site.

The project includes several high-rise buildings, one of which is said to reach 27 stories, just meters from the lake. While marketed as a “boost for tourism,” in reality this development threatens to:

❌ Concrete over the natural lakeshore
❌ Sever the city from the lake with a vertical wall of towers
❌ Destroy the natural beach and the social life of surrounding neighborhoods
❌ Pollute air, water, and soil through massive excavation and unchecked construction

All this is happening without public transparency or community consultation. The municipality of Pogradec has offered no clear information about the plans, while a vital natural space is quietly being sacrificed for profit.

But Lake Ohrid is not private property.
It belongs to the people of Pogradec—and to all future generations.

 
We demand:

An immediate halt to the construction project
Full transparency and public access to all planning documents
Intervention by UNESCO and national authorities to protect the lake
 
Pogradec is not Dubai.
It doesn’t need skyscrapers—it needs ethical, sustainable development in harmony with its history and nature.
