RES Mynydd Maen Wind Farm Decision Time Extended

Hi Everyone,

I know some of you have noticed the PEDW Case Work Website hasn't been kept up to date and some did not receive update emails from PEDW,  regarding this development, despite being on their email list?

The most recent letter dated 27th August has now been added to the Case Work Website today.

The Decision for the Mynydd Maen ( RES ) Development has been extended up to 30th November 2026, to match The Trecelyn Wind Farm  Decision Time Frame.

Perhaps the officials need more time to think? And 'think' they should... with recent wind fires cropping up in the areas where Solar and wind Farms have been built ( Newbridge side of the mountain ), this is not something that should be taken lightly.

There was mention in the objections to Cenin Solar farm development of fire. With these developments in such remote locations, any problems fire related would prove difficult to tackle. A nearby water source would not be much use for an electrical fire. To be realistic there would not be enough fire fighters to tackle 92 Acres of Solar panels and of course the batteries which have proven incredibly difficult to control. ( see YouTube Videos )

Magically Cenin has approval despite being located in an area with Acres of Woods and trees all around?

Lets not forget the miles of Peat across Mynydd Maen. Once dry enough ( in the conditions we have seen this summer ) Peat will burn...

Google answer :- Fuel blocks: Cut and dried peat blocks (turf) ignite easily and burn slowly, giving off deep warmth and a smoky aroma. 

Trying to locate the areas, again its ridiculous to think anything could be done to control it and it would also have the potential to smoulder below the surface.

Res are planning to put their electrical sub station right bang in the middle of the Peat.

Any of you living locally would of seen the amount smoke in the air around the time of the Solar Eclipse, And witnessed how long it took to get the fires under control.( The fire fighters can't be everywhere at once )

None of these developments should of even been considered for these locations. The safety issues alone should have been enough to dismiss the applications long ago. ( It is amazing what will be ignored for money making schemes )

It is now showing very desperate of the officials to try and hang on to these developments, as they have clearly shown across Country, they are not working!
