RENEWABLES UPDATE MARCH 2026

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update on the current events...

You may of noticed, in the media, large protests outside of Senedd recently as more and more people are becoming tired of the relentless onslaught on our Countryside by the Welsh Government.

But Will the Government listen or look after their own individual interests?

With basic details such as real output and consumption, from these renewable developments, avoided, missing or as officials say 'not required', I draw your attention to a recent meeting between the Climate Change Committee and Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning Rebecca Evans – for those of you that are interested here's the Link to the transcript:-

https://record.senedd.wales/Committee/15770#A104957

You will notice around 10:33:57 (point 193) the 'Homes Supplied' topic is finally touched on by Janet Finch Saunders.

But even when it is, there is still no definitive effort to fully investigate into these figures in detail or take them seriously and the whole exchange plays out more like a light and fluffy conversation between a couple of old friends in a bingo hall !

NESO & DESNZ, (used in net-zero targets and goals ) are briefly referenced along with Renewable UK Cymru but the all important base Ofgem figures are, of course, totally avoided?

Ofgem figures are the important figures as the other organisations mentioned are inflated.

The conversation is then wrapped up quickly, after only 3 mins, by host Llyr Gruffydd at 10:37:00 (point 202) as he says “We are moving on now” and that's the end of that?

No look into wind turbine electric grid consumption in maintenance mode, Capacity Decrease ( over time the turbines energy production quickly drops off ), Load Factor inflation by developers to make it look like they can produce more electric than they really can (amount of energy produced over the year taking into account non-wind days) and the constant Curtailment money poured at these developers for no electric production at all?

With the recent approvals of the Cenin Cil Lonydd 92 Acre Solar Farm, Newbridge side, the Pentre Bach 110 Acre Solar farm, Cwmbran side, of the mountain, a massive 202 Acres of quality local Countryside has been handed to developers on a plate, all to be covered in Glass panels.

As for the development proposals left...

The Trecelyn Wind Farm - decision is now out of PEDW's hands and down to Rebecca Evans ( we'll see how that turns out? )

The RES Wind farm - PEDW inspector submitted his report on 12th March, so again it's down to Rebecca Evans To Decide the outcome of our mountain.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks...Many thanks for now!

Matt
