The Issue

Living on the Dukes Field development, we have first hand knowledge of the potential consequences another 94 dwellings would have on our community.

Our roads, particularly Hunts Lane, Leicester Lane, and Station Road, are already at maximum capacity during rush hours.
The proposed access route is ludicrous and the idea of introducing an additional 100-200 vehicles through our existing development is concerning and threatens the safety and well-being of our residents and local school children attending Bosworth Academy.

The parents who already park on these roads during school hours will face even more challenges to park and create major congestion problems when dropping off and collecting their children.

Despite Miller Homes labeling the new housing project as Phase 2 of the Dukes Field development, this so-called continuation was never mentioned before. Existing residents, like myself, were unaware of any such proposal when we purchased our homes, leading to feelings of betrayal and apprehension.
The developers greed building on our countryside is unacceptable to local communities and we must stand united to protect our environment.

It's troubling to think that this proposed development could proceed without proper consideration of the community’s concerns and the strain on our local infrastructure.

The schools, roads, and other essential services in Desford are not equipped to handle the increased demand that 94 new homes would bring.
This move by Miller Homes poses risks not only to school-bound children but also diminishes the quality of life for existing residents. With a quiet residential road becoming a major road for people who have spent their life savings on their forever homes.

We must stand together to voice our concerns and ensure that any future developments do not compromise our peace, safety and community values.

Please sign this petition to urge Miller Homes and relevant planning authorities to reconsider an alternative site, maybe in the city where housing is needed, before proceeding with any new developments in Desford.
