Hi guys,
Just wanted to post a quick update on the consultation because I said I'd have my response ready before the end of this week and I haven't/ Apologies for this, I do believe I'll have it to you early next week, the deadline is 13 February so we should have plenty of time to get it out.
So far, it looks as though Ofcom are calling for a stepping-stone method in my opinion. they are looking to change the mid-contract price rises from being based on inflation (so we never know what our prices will be when we sign the contract) to being a fixed pounds and pence increase, which is better but not far enough. I'll obviously be replying with a stern message saying that a fixed-term tariff should be a fixed rate tariff, and hope they listen to us.
In the interim, if you're looking to save some money on your broadband bills in the short term then try out our free broadband price comparison tool to find cheap deals.
That's everything for now, i hope you all have a great weekend, I'll be back next week with the response I've sent to Ofcom on their consultation.
Thanks everyone,
Richard Winstone
