"I initially spent 10 days there last year, and just got released this week after 4 months in what was supposed to be a protective custody cell. I filed at least 10 greivance forms during my stay and you can guess the result of each. A few of them I even appealed to the jailer and that was an even bigger joke. I'm a fully retired disabled veteran with many ailments, issues, and medications. I was denied many medications because they said it was jail policy not to use them. I had several medications changed because they thought they knew better (but was just being cheap). I had many days where I was not even given my meds because "they couldn't find them". Then there were days I was given morning meds at night and night meds in the morning. I filled out so many complaints and grievances that after awhile I was so upset that after confronting the dosing nurse about wrong medications, I was placed in the "hole" for 48 hours. Numerous c.o.'s abused their power and authority. Cursing without regard or reason and then lashing out at you if you curse. I recently had gastric bypass surgery which requires a very specific high protein diet, specific post surgery vitamins and calcium citrate. For the protein diet, they just gave me two trays....no extra proteins, just stupidity. For the vitamins they were just standard one a day. And the calcium citrate....they just gave me tums. For headaches, joint aches, back aches (from laying on a thin mat on the floor for months with just a flimsy blanket and 1/2 length sheet, we were routinely denied tylenol or asipirin or ibuprofen. We were told to buy them at the commissary or put in a medical request and wait a few days. The doctor on staff, if you can call him that, is morbidly obese, cross eyed, and mannerless. I was told that my prescription orthotic shoes prescribed by the VA for diabetes and neuropathy were not allowed outside my cell because they serve no purpose other than to make my feet feel better. Yeah, you read that right. I can type so much more but I will save it for another time. They need to have their assess sued like theres no tomorrow and all of them should be jobless or in a cell themselves."
