Humans should NOT have to BEG JAIL STAFF, JAILERS AND DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO TREAT THEM humanely. The following story highlights what one person at Warren County Jail, in Bowling Green, Kentucky has had to endure. Thank you for reading!

Just what ARE the conditions like in the Warren County Jail, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. For the average inmate the conditions have been described to me as:
UNHEALTHY . . . INHUMANE . . . UNFAIR . . . RETALIATION . . . ABUSES OF ALL KINDS . . . POOR FOOD QUALITY . . . MEDICALLY IGNORED and DENIED THE ABILITY TO WORK IN JAIL AND/OR TO ATTEND CLASSES (such as GED).
One inmate has revealed what "he/she" experienced in the WARREN Co. Ky SUICIDE SLAMMER:
***He/She writes: "Honestly, the "Suicide Cell" is NOT much different than the "PC" cell, which is not how it's supposed to be. The Suicide Cell is up front near booking or in one of the single cells.
Women and men in the Suicide Cell are made to wear "Turtle Suits" (Suicide Smocks), and they are completely naked underneath of them. The "Turtle Suits" are so poorly made and worn out that they don't even close properly, leaving your body still exposed!
Men watch the cameras and can see the women naked. I personally have seen it myself on the cameras and observed a male officer watching the cameras. The Turtle Suits should be REPLACED in addition to being made better, because the Velcro always seems to get messed up causing it to not stick anymore when you go to close it.
Men and women on "Suicide Watch" are basically just thrown in a cell with a turtle suit and left to "calm down" or detox from whatever they are under the influence of. They beat on the cell doors, yell, scream, jump on their bunks, etc in order to get the guards' attention because they're usually being ignored.
In some cases the inmates are coming in off the street high or drunk. I've seen officers mistreat them, call them names, tase them, ignore them, refuse to allow them to use the restroom (if you're housed in a room without a toilet) causing inmates to have to urinate or defecate on themselves.
The officers treat inmates VERY INHUMANE and DISRESPECTFUL when they are SEGREGATED and alone from other inmates. I've personally been a victim of that myself. In my own personal experience, I was put in ISOLATION for joking around with an officer.
Jailer Harmon put me in ISOLATION and I was treated very poorly by the officer who originally had Harmon place me there. She/He wouldn't let me use the restroom.
The officer was also telling all the other inmates that knew me to NOT SPEAK TO ME as they walked by my cell or that they'd go to isolation as well. She/He YELLED at me, LIED about me and HAD OTHER OFFICERS LIE as well in order TO BACK HIS/HER STORY UP.
In the end, she/he had a lieutenant retaliate against me and INTERFERED WITH MY PHONE CALLS, because the officer told the lieutenant that I was disrespecting HIM/HER! I filed grievances about that officer. As with all other grievances that inmates write, mine was ignored as well."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
CONCLUSION:
There have been other complaints that those in the isolation or Suicide Cells have not only had to urinate or defecate on themselves, but rumors of women that are on their menstrual cycles do NOT have the proper sanitary items they need in order to be clean and to maintain at least some dignity. I will be sharing more about this situation in the future.
So far there have been accusations of men and women feeling naked in these improperly fitting "Turtle Smocks" and also medical/emotional neglect and abuse of the men and women in the "Suicide Cell."
Those in the "Suicide Cell" are only allowed to have a "mattress" from 7pm to 7am. Most of the time they are NOT offered a "Suicide Blanket" and the air conditioning causes these people suffering from mental illness to shiver due to poorly fitting suicide smocks and no suicide blanket.
One other issue that another person informed me about is the fact that the "Suicide Cells" are OVERCROWDED. An inmate drew a picture for me of how CROWDED the Suicide Cell can be. This person said that in the "1 bed Cell" they throw in 3 extra cots. This causes one of the beds to be placed close to the toilet that they all share. So, if someone has to use the restroom at night one of the other people has to wake up and move their bed away from the toilet. Can you imagine that!? This is not only inhumane, but is also a health hazard!
