A report commissioned in 2013 reveals hundreds of schools in the city were in areas which exceed EU pollution limits. It claimed 433 of the capital’s 1,777 primary schools are in areas where pollution breached the EU’s limits for nitrogen dioxide - of which 66 were in Tower Hamlets. In light of this report, one has to ask, why was the Enderby Wharf terminal given the go ahead without an onshore power supply!? It could only INCREASE pollution, at the expense of people who live nearby in Greenwich, and their neighbours just the across river in Tower Hamlets.
