On Monday May 5th, MassArt administration placed  Peggy Wang and Isaac Watts, members of The Association of Professional Administrator (APA), a Massachusetts Teachers Association affiliate, on administrative leave for attending a demonstration in support of divestment from weapons and against the genocide of Palestinians.

Both Peggy and Isaac have received letters from administration that falsely allege they pushed a public safety officer, blocked entrances, and refused to leave premises. Six MassArt students were also sent disciplinary letters. 

MassArt has shamelessly joined colleges and universities around the country in cracking down on the First Amendment rights of students, staff and faculty to express their dissent against the violation of human rights and dignity of the Palestinian People.

We demand that MassArt administration immediately take Peggy Wang and Isaac Watts off administrative leave and take no disciplinary action against them or the six MassArt students over their exercise of free speech, assembly, and protest.
