Stop Mandatory Anti-Abortion Videos in Florida Classrooms

Stop Mandatory Anti-Abortion Videos in Florida Classrooms
The Issue
Florida lawmakers are once again using our public school system to push a political agenda—and this time, it’s targeting our kids.
A new bill introduced by State Senator Erin Grall would require all middle and high school students in Florida to watch high-definition videos of fetal development, such as the “Baby Olivia” video created by the anti-abortion group Live Action. These videos are not neutral science—they're political tools designed to shape beliefs, not inform minds.
This isn’t the first time this proposal has surfaced. In 2025, lawmakers backed down from this same idea after public outcry. But now, Sen. Grall—who also championed Florida’s six-week abortion ban—is trying to sneak it back into a massive 52-page education bill (SB 1090). If passed, it would insert biased and ideologically-driven content into public school classrooms under the guise of “health education.”
Students deserve accurate, age-appropriate, and medically-reviewed information—not propaganda. This bill also makes it harder for students to learn about reproductive health by requiring parents to opt in, which experts warn could leave many teens without critical health knowledge if their parents never respond.
We must not allow political agendas to dictate what Florida kids learn in school.
We call on the Florida Senate Education Pre-K–12 Committee, Senate President Ben Albritton, and Governor Ron DeSantis to reject this proposal. Florida classrooms should be places of learning, not indoctrination.
Sign this petition to protect our schools from political interference and ensure that all students receive balanced, fact-based health education—not manipulative videos intended to serve one side of a deeply personal issue.
