As a Christian, I am moved to start this petition because I believe that every human life is sacred. We are all created in God's image, and He knows what is best for us. The act of ending lives through Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) is an act of taking control over something that belongs solely to God. It signifies a lack of trust in His timing and His role as the author of life.

Every life is precious because we are all created in God's image. When we end a life, we interfere with His plan. In 2022 alone, there were 13,241 reported cases of MAID deaths in Canada which represents a significant increase from previous years (source: Government of Canada). This trend not only highlights the growing acceptance but also the normalization of assisted dying - something that deeply concerns me as it devalues the sanctity and value of each human life.

I urge you to consider this perspective, which places a high value on human life and goes beyond religious beliefs. Let us work together towards creating supportive environments where people do not feel compelled to choose death over suffering due to inadequate care or resources.
