Thank you again for your support. With your help, we managed to temporarily halt Lyons Township District 204's sale of its wooded land in Willow Springs, IL, to an industrial developer. More than 100 supporters turned out in person for the Jan. 23 board meeting and made their voices heard, but LTHS remains unwilling to stop the sale and start over with community input.
Now, local media outlets are reporting LTHS has been in contact with the current high bidder since at least March 2022, more than eight months before informing the public of their rushed, 30-day sale of the land.
The LaGrange Patch writes: "The board's effort was in spite of Willow Springs' zoning code, which bars industrial development on the wooded land at 79th Street and Willow Springs Road."

Your attention to this issue has made all the difference. Let's keep the pressure up. Here's what you can do:
1) Forward this petition and the Patch report to any friends, family or neighbors in the area to keep them informed.
2) Visit the website www.neighborsofpleasantdale.com for news and updates.
3) Let LTHS know this move is wrong. Call the district at (708) 579-6300, email LTHS Superintendent Brian Waterman at bwaterman@lths.net, or message the district at its property sale website.
You can make a difference. Remind LTHS that public lands should be handled with the public good in mind. Say no to industrial development next to schools, homes and parks. Say yes to community involvement every step of the way. Thank you!
