YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR FAMILY. YOU WORK HARD TO BUIILD A HOME, PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY, AND CREATE A PEACEFUL LIFE IN A COMMUNITY.
Luck Stone wants to take that peaceful enjoyment and safety away — and take a chunk of the equity you have built in your home with it.
A massive quarry, asphalt plant, concrete plant, rail operation, blasting, dust, lights, truck traffic, and industrial noise do not belong in the middle of an agricultural and conservation area. And now Luck Stone has delayed again. The Planning Commission hearing is being pushed to July. Hanover County’s published Planning Commission schedule lists the July regular meeting as:
Planning Commission Meeting
Thursday, July 16, 2026
6:00 p.m.
Board Room — Hanover County Administration Building
7516 County Complex Road, Hanover, VA 23069
The County’s Luck Stone page still lists this case as under review, with the Planning Commission public hearing as the recommendation stage and the Board of Supervisors public hearing as the final decision stage. The Planning Commission schedule lists the July 16 meeting date and confirms that the Commission meets in the Board Room of the Hanover County Administration Building. This application has already been pending for more than a year. It is supposed to move forward for a vote within a year, yet the County continues allowing delay after delay.
Let’s be honest about what delay does: it wears people down. It makes neighbors tired. It makes people think the fight is over. It makes parents with busy schedules, older residents who do not want to drive at night, and working families feel like they cannot keep showing up.
IT IS EXACTLY WHY WE CANNOT LET THEM STEAL OUR HOMES. BUTTS IN SEATS MATTER. When the room is full, they see that this community is paying attention. When people show up, the County cannot pretend this is just a small group of residents. When neighbors stand together, it sends a message that our homes, roads, wells, health, history, and rural quality of life are not negotiable. Please go to our website for email addresses and information on how to send your opposition to the Luck Stone quarry:

Send an email. Share this petition. Ask one more neighbor to sign. And most importantly, make plans to attend the Planning Commission meeting in July.
Luck Stone may be counting on delay to drain the opposition. We are not going to let that happen. THIS IS OUR HOME. NOT LUCK STONE’S EXTRACTION ZONE.
Please share this petition today, send an opposition email, and help us fill the room on July 16.
