Homelessness and people going hungry has been a problem in the world for far too long. I've seen people all of my life, on the streets begging for food and/or money. As I got older, I've seen it more, and more. I began working in the food industry when I was 16,(I am now almost 20) and have seen way too much food getting wasted. Some restaurants more than others, but I find this extremely disrespectful and wasteful of the communities that practice such acts. 

    There is a food shortage currently in the U.S., and our resources may be getting stretched thinner and thinner if we continue to throw away what some could consider life saving. My proposal is to enforce some type of system between restaurants and shelters, or some type of charities known to tackle such issues and distribute good quality, in date food that would normally be trashed, into the mouths of someone who truly needs it.

   The other day I witnessed a restaurant throw away over two dozen loaves of bread,  and countless sliced veggies. If we somehow had a way to put this food in the right hands, this food would not be wasted. We have to improve our society everyday. Do better.
