Object to the planning application today.
When the Arkall Farm development (now called Arkall Green) was proposed I campaigned against it vigorously.
I argued how North Tamworth cannot sustain further development and we simply don’t have the road capacity or local infrastructure to allow 1,000’s of houses to be built.
When the Arkall Farm proposals were approved by the local planning authority (Lichfield District Council) we took the matter to the Planning Inspector and secured a partial victory with a “Monitor and Manage” approach to the development.
This means that the developer cannot build more houses until the issues with local infrastructure are addressed first. Without this condition, the developer is free to build more and more houses. With this condition, unless the infrastructure is improved first, there can be no more houses.
I am shocked to see that an application has been made to Lichfield District Council to allow the developer to change or remove the vital “Monitor and Manage” condition.
This cannot be allowed to happen.
We need as many people as possible to join me in raising their objections to this application. It is vital there is a public outcry on this matter. Developers must learn that we don’t have short memories and we won’t roll over.
Please take a few minutes to raise your objections yourself to this application to remove or change the “Monitor and Manage” condition. It must remain in place to protect North Tamworth as much as possible.
You can object by emailing neighbour.responses@lichfielddc.gov.uk or by writing to Development control, Lichfield District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YY. Please quote application number 23/00428/FULMEI
You can view the application here - www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/planning using application number 23/00428/FULMEI.
I have raised the issue with every local authority to ensure that the issue remains on everyone agenda.
Thank you for your support!
