Recently, LCPS has been banning a lot of games and also are changing the 80% grade policy to 70%. These changes will make many students unhappy and move to a different, better school area. First onto the game problem.

LCPS has banned almost every single game, I said in a previous petition(Failed). The only ones that remain are YouTube, Google, and Minecraft. I agree that students should not play during class, but the only way to connect for some students is through games on their chromebook. I think that all games should be allowed after 3:38 PM, because students can play games at home without disrupting school performance. Many computer science teachers have agreed with my solution and argument. We need to reach out to LCPS quickly, before everything is banned!

LCPS has also made a grading policy change. The 80% retake rule has now gone down to 70%. My own mom disagrees with LCPS and she says she has also seen many other parents frustrated about it. The problem with the new policy is that it will make students grades get really low, and many students may quit soon. We need to stop this before next year, when it is passed. Quickly!

I was also thinking about dealing with the SOL counting as 10% of our grades, but I decided not to. It seems reasonable because it is just all the material we learned counting as a grade, which makes sense.

Quickly! Reach out to all your friends, family, and anyone else you know before it is too late. This petition will be a failure if we don't get enough signers before September.

Edit: I am adding a personal story here: In computer classes, some students have to use the computers to play games, and many of the teachers support it. I am really frustrated that they blocked Chess.com and Survival Race, they are so fun and good. For the grading policy, the 80% has saved me from having to retake Algebra. I am really grateful for this policy, and it is extremely sad that LCPS is removing it. Share this petition to everyone you know, and keep the petition community updated.
