The Issue

I am starting this petition to bring attention to a deeply personal issue that affects not only me but countless other communities. It is imperative that housing associations and other relevant entities have a legal obligation to inform potential tenants about any antisocial or violent behavior in neighborhoods they are considering moving into, especially if tenants are vulnerable or have disablities.Too many people, including families and children, are being moved into dangerous environments without adequate information or forewarning. This has to change. It is hard enough trying to live a fulfilled life as it is for many disabled people but with all the uncertainties around disability benefit cuts and not enough adequate housing it is essential tenants are moved into a safe environment.

In line with this, we are facing another pressing issue: the potential reduction of disability benefits under Keir Starma's plans. Disability benefits are a lifeline for many individuals who rely on them to maintain a semblance of normalcy and to cover their basic living expenses. Cutting these benefits will not only put a significant financial strain on disabled individuals but will also harm their mental and physical well-being.

Research from the Disability Rights UK shows that over 13 million people in the UK are living with a disability, and a significant portion of these individuals depend on disability benefits. Removing or reducing these essential funds would leave many vulnerable, unable to afford necessary medications, therapies, or even basic needs like heating and food.

We must urge Keir Starma to reconsider these plans as cutting disability benefits is not just an economic issue but a moral one. There are numerous other alternatives to reducing government spending that do not involve harming society's most vulnerable members. These include addressing corporate tax loopholes, reducing unnecessary government expenditure, and implementing more efficient public sector processes.

Sign this petition to urge Keir Starma to protect disability benefits and ensure that people's needs are prioritized over budget cuts. Let's stand together in defense of those who need it most, and work towards a more informed, caring, and equitable society. Please add your voice to this cause and help us make a change.

I know all people with disabilities really do appreciate the support we get. We are all scared for the future of disability benefit due to a number of claimants making fraudulent claims.  This does need to stop so please do not cut these benefits for people who seriously need them. Change the application process to stop fraudulent claims.
