When we first started this petition we hoped The County of Kauai would hear our voices and act. Sadly we now know that The County of Kauai has agreements with developers for this property! 

This agreement was made on December 24, 2003. Signed by Ian Costa (then head of County Planning). He was later investigated by the FBI and was forced to step down from the Planning Commision as a result.
Agreement was also OK’d by Laurel Loo (then County Attorney) she now works for Gary Pinkston!

Gary Pinkston (developer) and owner of Meridian Pacific Ltd. is now using this agreement moving forward with development. 

On August 10, 2021 The County of Kauai held a planning commission meeting for this property. Despite our testimony the commission approved the request to consolidate the two lots into one.

One of the conditions of this agreement states that “Any subdivision approval is equal to building permits”
