Thank you for your support. We have received a letter today from Blockhouse Bay Intermediate informing us the planned Kainga Ora's community engagement sessions on:
Saturday, 11 March 2023, 8:30am - 12:30pm
Saturday, 25 March 2023, 8:30am - 12:30pm
at Blockhouse Bay Community Centre (524 Blockhouse Bay Road, Blockhouse Bay)
We hope these sessions will be conducted in good faith with the right staff on site to consider and make decisions. We would not wish to attend engagement sessions only to be told what Kainga Ora will be doing without our concerns acknowledged and addressed. You would have already seen the resource consent application drawings submitted to council as part of the previous petition update. You would have also read this petition which summarised some of the community's current concerns. We encourage you to please attend these sessions with your own concerns/questions and request these to be addressed as part of this redevelopment proposal.
We would also like to highlight to you that whilst these engagement sessions are being planned and will be undertaken on these dates, Kainga Ora's resource consent application is still being processed by Auckland Council in the background. Kainga Ora had requested and agreed to return their resource consent S92 responses on 3rd March but have now requested and been granted further extension to return on 10th March.
