Stop Insurance Discrimination Against Women — Cover Hormone Therapy Now

The Issue

Every day, millions of women suffer needlessly from untreated hormone decline during perimenopause and menopause. Brain fog, insomnia, depression, bone loss, and heart risks are not “just part of getting older” — they are medical conditions that can be prevented and treated.

Insurance covers men’s sexual health — but not women’s basic hormone care.

Insurance companies cover:

  • Men’s testosterone therapy.
  • Erectile dysfunction drugs.
  • Gender-affirming hormone care.

But they deny:

  • Women’s hormone replacement therapy (HRT), including bio-identical and compounded options.
  • The lab testing and follow-up care that make HRT safe and effective.

This is blatant, harmful discrimination — and it costs women their health, their careers, and their quality of life. Without coverage, women must pay $1,200–$3,000 a year out-of-pocket. Many simply go without.

Balanced hormones save lives and keep women in the workforce.

We demand the immediate passage of the Women’s Hormone Health Equity Act, requiring:

1.  Equal Coverage — HRT for women starting at perimenopause, with no arbitrary limits. All

2.  Methods Covered — patches, pills, pellets, creams, troches, injections, including bio-identical and compounded forms.

3.  Full Care Support — lab testing, hormone level monitoring, and follow-up visits.

Balanced hormones reduce risks for heart disease, osteoporosis, and dementia — and they keep women healthy, productive, and engaged in their families and communities.

We will no longer accept second-class healthcare. Women’s health is not optional. Equal coverage now
