Stop illegal immigration action in Texas
Stop illegal immigration action in Texas
The Issue
Our communities are feeling the impact of illegal immigration more intensely than ever before, and as a resident of Texas, I am deeply concerned about the recent actions that threaten the stability and safety of our neighborhoods.
Every day, countless individuals cross our borders without proper documentation. While many seek a better life, the current situation is overwhelming our local resources, affecting the economy, and straining our healthcare and education systems. As a taxpayer and a parent, I fear for the future of my children and the community they will grow up in.
In Uvalde County alone, the sheriff’s department responded to over 50 calls related to border crossers in the last month, diverting resources from other critical law enforcement duties. Hospitals in border cities are operating at over 100% capacity due to the sudden influx of individuals requiring immediate care. Schools are struggling to provide quality education as classrooms become overcrowded.
We respect the desire for people to pursue a better life, but this must be balanced with respect for the rule of law and our community's ability to absorb new residents. Therefore, I urge the state and federal governments to take swift and effective action.
**Proposed Solutions Include:**
1. Increasing border security measures to prevent unlawful crossings, allowing law enforcement to focus on broader community safety.
2. Implementing a streamlined and humane process for those seeking asylum, ensuring genuine cases are expedited and supported, while discouraging illegal entry.
3. Allocating more federal assistance for border communities to support healthcare, law enforcement, and educational infrastructure.
By addressing these issues, we can better manage immigration in a way that respects both the aspirations of migrants and the well-being of local residents.
We need your voice to make this change happen! Please sign the petition to urge our leaders to take responsibility and act now. Together, we can ensure a safer and more prosperous future for all Texans.
