We need to take a stand to stop illegal bird importation to the UK! 

Despite existing regulations, the illegal trade in wild birds continues to flourish, often hidden from public view but with devastating consequences for global biodiversity, animal welfare, and even public health. The issue is not receiving the attention it urgently deserves, and I am asking for your help in bringing it to the government's attention and seeking stronger measures to combat it.

birds are often smuggled into the UK in appalling conditions — cramped, stressed, malnourished. Species such as African Grey Parrots, and many more are trafficked primarily for the exotic pet trade. And then sold to people that have no experience.

Parrots are transported in plastic bottles, wedged in tyre rims, any way that they can be smuggled 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Parrots are then passed around on websites for sale, due to lack of experience, resulting in not only trauma, but being kept in cages for 80 plus years as a cheap sale.

 

I want to stop the illegal birds trade, stop websites who advertise parrots for sale, and ensure that any parrot which is purchased in the uk comes with legitimate ring identification numbers and UK certificates.

 

I have an illegal imported bird, who cannot walk or fly, who teaches me everyday, love. Despite what humans have done.
