The Issue

My wife and I are raising four children, and I’m a proud U.S. citizen. I was born in Brazil—and I never imagined I’d feel unsafe in the country I call home. This country gave me opportunities, community, and a belief that the Constitution protects everyone. Today, for the first time in my life, I am afraid—afraid that I could be taken from my family without due process, afraid that my children could grow up in a country where fear replaces rights and silence substitutes accountability.

This petition is being launched with a group of family, friends, and neighbors to start a movement called United Citizens and Immigrants of America—a coalition committed to defending constitutional rights and demanding transparency and accountability in immigration enforcement.

The injustice and fear stemming from ICE's profiling and abusive enforcement threaten the very essence of what the United States stands for. We have all witnessed the alarming number of civilian deaths and the lack of accountability for officials involved in such tragic events. Such as the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The US Constitution promises protection and justice for all, yet these rights are jeopardized by aggressive immigration enforcement practices that disregard human dignity and constitutional protections.

Hundreds of families, much like mine, are living in constant fear, unsure if they will see another day with their loved ones. This climate of terror is not only inhumane but contradicts the American values that we hold dear. Faith institutions, federal elected leaders, and corporations all have a responsibility to stand up and demand change.

To resolve this, we urge our elected officials, religious leaders, and company CEOs to call on the US administration to enact policies that ensure ICE operates with transparency and accountability. Faith institutions and corporations must leverage their influence to advocate for humane practices and protect the rights of all residents concerning their lawful presence in the United States.

Let us come together to demand concrete changes that align with our national values and pave the way for a more just society. Please join me in urging our leaders and institutions to halt ICE profiling, hold officials accountable, and protect constitutional rights for every individual in our great nation.

Sign this petition and stand with me to safeguard the essence of America and protect future generations from fear and injustice.
