WOWOWOW!!! We not only hit our target of 7,500, we blew through the next target of 15,000 and now we're over THIRTY THOUSAND signatures!

YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

At 35,000 signatures, this petition becomes one of the top signed on Change.org!

UPDATE: on Wednesday, we sent out a press release with support from Chesapeake Climate Action NetworkBlue Ridge PRISM, and Plant NOVA Natives. We have our first news interview scheduled for next Thursday. We are meeting at a local park where I can show them first hand the damage these invasive plants are doing.

This week, I walked through a county park and took photos of countless trees being overtaken by English ivy. Today, the nearest Home Depot is selling English ivy, even though it is officially listed as invasive in 16 states, including mine!

These huge, old trees are at risk of dying, unless something is done. The climate impact of these losses would be tragic.

Our county, like many others, runs an Invasive Management Area Program tasked with removing these tree-killing vines and saving these mature trees from death by English ivy. Across the country, this is costing taxpayers ridiculous sums of money to remove the very plants that Home Depot is selling. This is maddening!!

Who do you know that will join us in telling Home Depot to STOP selling invasive plants? You can even use this QR code to easily share link to the petition. And please help me get the word out on social!

Keep sharing, and let's get to 35,000!!!
