Proposed New Homes at Land South of High Street, Sherburn. (Behind The Pastures).

In the quiet, serene corners of North Yorkshire, the local families have found sanctuary for generations in the beautiful village of Sherburn. We  have cherished the lush greenery, local wildlife thrived, and the sense of community that made our village feel like home. But now, our peace is threatened by a new planning proposal that has raised profound concerns about our environment, safety, and quality of life.

This proposed development, set to rise alarmingly close to our homes, promises to disrupt the delicate balance our village relies on. It seems there has been little to no consideration of the impact this will have on local residents and the unique wildlife that inhabit these lands. The charm and character of our village, a quintessential part of North Yorkshire, stand at risk of irreversible change.

Moreover, this development is set to unleash a tidal wave of traffic through our quiet streets. The narrow lanes and quaint roads were never designed to handle such a burden. Traffic congestion will not only be an everyday nuisance but a safety hazard, especially for our children who play outside and commute to school. We believe that such changes to our infrastructure could lead to increased accidents and place an undue strain on local resources.

The infrastructure in our village is simply not equipped to support this kind of expansion. From our local schools to healthcare facilities, every aspect of community life could be affected, leading to overcrowding, resource rationing, and a diminished quality of life.

We urge the planning authorities to consider the impact of this proposal.

Please join me in standing against this planning proposal. Sign this petition to protect our neighbourhood, safeguard our wildlife, and preserve the unique charm of our beloved village.
