Stop Gwent Council Pension Fund investing in companies linked to GENOCIDE and APARTHEID

Stop Gwent Council Pension Fund investing in companies linked to GENOCIDE and APARTHEID
The Issue
Public sector workers deserve pensions built on ethics - not arms deals.
The Gwent Pension Fund invests in companies such as BAE Systems, Airbus, and Northrup Grumman which supply weapons and technology used in Israel's military actions and the occupied West Bank. Also, so called 'complicit companies' such as McDonalds and Airbnb which operate in the occupied West Bank and banks like Barclays and HSBC which heavily invest there.
These investments risk complicity in breaches of international law and human rights - and damage public trust.
We call on the Gwent Council Pension Fund to:
- Divest from companies linked to illegal occupations, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
- Disclose all investments and review its ethical standards.
- Ensure Pensions are invested responsibly and transparently.
Our pensions should support peace not conflict.
