Dear Supporters,
There was a time when all I wanted for Mother’s Day was to have my children with me.
That was shaped by one of the hardest experiences of my life, after spending Mother’s Day in the ICU, praying that my son would survive after my son received a liver transplant. In that moment, I promised myself that if he lived, having my children with me would be the greatest and only Mother’s Day gift I ever wanted.
For every Mother’s Day since then, that has been enough.
But this year feels a little different.
This year, there is one more gift that would make Mother’s Day especially meaningful: seeing Governor Bill Lee sign the FAIR Rx Act.
This legislation will help protect families that I've connected with across the state of Tennessee from being forced to use pharmacies owned by or vertically integrated with the PBMs and insurance companies and this legislation would preserve access to trusted local pharmacists who know their patients and care deeply about their health.
For families like mine, access to the right medications at the right time at a trusted pharmacy that safely handles medications and delivers timely is not a convenience. It can be lifesaving.
Governor Lee, please sign the FAIR Rx Act.
That would be a Mother’s Day gift not only for me, but for countless mothers across Tennessee who simply want their children and loved ones to have fair, safe, and reliable access to the medications they need.
