First Arkansas HB 1150 that would be the start of breaking up the health insurance monopolies passed in Committee yesterday. Today, it goes to a full floor vote. This bill would ban insurance companies'/pharmacy benefit managers from owning pharmacies.

A shocking comment made by a legislator yesterday showed what we are up against.
Just when you think CVS couldn't go lower. Yesterday, a legislator mentioned that it appears that CVS may have engaged in practices that are very concerning. According to a legislator, CVS allegedly utilized patient data to create the false impression that patients were contacting legislators regarding legislation aimed at preventing insurance company PBMs from owning pharmacies. It seems patients were unaware of CVS's use of their data in this manner. CVS Caremark merged or vertically integrated with CVS mail and retail pharmacy and often steers patients to their own mail and retail pharmacies. This is as concerning as their lie under oath to Congress where they claimed not to steer patients to their own pharmacy. When will legislators hold them accountable?
