Dear Supporters Turning Into Advocates, 

Our Express Scripts protest was a success for our first one! Thank you to those who participated. Today, Pharmacists United for Truth and Transparency is partnering with us on the organization of the next protest. (Thank you PUTT!)

At our last protest,"So many patients are not getting their medications on time," said Loretta Boesing, founder of the patient advocacy group Unite for Safe Medications and organizer of the protest. "We need options to use local pharmacies in our coverage. We need Express Scripts to stop being so greedy. This has to stop. We cannot allow this to happen to our pharmacy and medication access here in America."

Let’s keep the momentum going and unite to grow our movement until we reach Washington, D.C., and make our voices heard loud and clear: America demands action. The monopolization of the pharmacy industry is harming our nation due to Optum RX’s abuse of its power as a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). Optum’s PBM not only forces many people to use their own mail-order pharmacies but also pays competitors or local pharmacies below their costs, causing rapid closures and hurting patients and entire communities. We need legislators to act now, as at least one pharmacy is closing every day.

To save lives and prevent more from being harmed, patients need choice of pharmacy to quickly and safely access medications and local pharmacies.
