Hi everyone,
*Update: Governor Kemp's office has requested that this form is used to submit the request.
"Patients Lives Depend on Choice"
Your quick call could help save lives! There are 3 bills sitting on governors' desks right now just waiting on a signature that will save lives.
These bills are in support of the patient choice of pharmacy and/or regulations of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) such as Express Scripts, Optum RX, and CVS Caremark). The bills have passed through the Senate, but the lobbyists are trying to persuade the governors not to sign. Millions of dollars are being paid to lobbyist in some of these states who are fighting against PBMs, so your voice is critical.
Last week, an article using Medicare data exposed PBMs for overcharging taxpayers millions. On one prescription alone and as PBMs force us to their mail-order pharmacy, a PBM price gouged taxpayers $5,000 per prescription. You can read the article here. As PBMs force us to their mail-order/retail stores, evidence proves that they are not saving us money, but risking patients lives as they overcharge taxpayers.
Yesterday, on twitter a CEO of a company also figured out that his employees were also being overcharged by one of these PBMs. The contracts employers sign are complex and are not easily understood. I am so thankful to the employers who are learning and standing up for their employees.
I am easily tearful when I say I appreciate each and every supporter and Change.org. I mean that with all of my heart!
Thank you,
Loretta Boesing
