Stop Florida’s Bill Banning LGBTQ+ Pride Flags in Public Spaces

Stop Florida’s Bill Banning LGBTQ+ Pride Flags in Public Spaces
The Issue
Miami Beach Pride is currently happening in Florida. But will this be its last one??
A new bill advancing in Florida’s legislature aims to ban the display of LGBTQ+ Pride flags on government buildings and public schools.
This dangerous proposal threatens to erase symbols of inclusion, diversity, and acceptance across the state.
Pride flags are more than just banners—they represent safety, visibility, and the fundamental rights of LGBTQ+ individuals in Florida. Removing them sends a harmful message of exclusion, particularly to LGBTQ+ youth who already face higher risks of discrimination and mental health challenges.
Critics said the bill is another form of censorship that targets vulnerable communities and that its language is vague and broad and could lead to selective enforcement.
As Miami Beach Pride kicks off in celebration of love and equality, the state is considering a measure that would take a step backward.
We cannot let this happen.
We call on Florida lawmakers to reject this unnecessary and discriminatory ban.
