The issue

Like many Australians, I believed that purchasing a FetchTV device meant I owned it without any further costs or obligations. The freedom to enjoy entertainment without ongoing fees was a key reason I chose FetchTV in the first place. Imagine my disappointment when I recently received an email from FetchTV informing me of a purported "Extended Service Levy" of $29.99. This charge, they claimed, is required to continue accessing Fetch services beyond 31 October 2026. They also threatened that failure to pay after multiple attempts would result in disabling my device — a device I've already paid for in full.

FetchTV’s sudden imposition of this levy feels like a breach of consumer trust and an unfair move against loyal customers. It's hard not to see this as a move to squeeze extra money from us who have already invested in their products under what was supposed to be a one-time purchase agreement.

This is a call to action to stop FetchTV from charging this unwarranted levy. Our devices should be supported by the promise that was initially made: one payment, no hidden fees, and definitely no sudden levies years later.

Charging for continued access to a service that was marketed as a no-subscription device is both misleading and ethically concerning. We need to stand together to ensure companies cannot retroactively alter terms of ownership and impose unexpected charges on their customers.

Let’s urge FetchTV to respect the terms under which we purchased our devices. Sign this petition if you believe that consumers should not be surprised by post-purchase fees and that FetchTV should honor the original contractual terms without imposing additional levies. Help us send a strong message that Australians deserve better — transparency, fairness, and respectful treatment from the companies we invest in.

Join us in demanding fairness and transparency from FetchTV. Sign the petition today and help protect consumer rights in Australia.
