Stop Fathers From Hiding Income to Avoid Child Support

The Issue

I am writing this petition out of personal frustration and deep concern not just for my children, but for countless others who are being unfairly deprived of financial support due to a glaring loophole.

My ex-partner is currently claiming ‘no income’ despite clearly earning enough to contribute to our children's upbringing. As a result, he does not pay a penny towards their care, and there seems to be no accountability, investigation or penalties for this behaviour.

The Child Support Agency (CSA) needs to take immediate, comprehensive action to prevent fathers from hiding their income and neglecting their financial responsibilities. Further investigations need to be performed as well as concrete evidence shown to support their claims. Going under the radar alone of HMRC is not a good enough reason. It's unfair that hardworking mothers, like myself, and innocent children have to bear the brunt of this injustice while some fathers manipulate the system to evade their duties.

Studies have highlighted that inadequate financial support directly impacts a child's well-being, education, and overall development. According to the National Children’s Bureau, children who grow up in low-income households struggle more with education, leading to long-term implications for their future.

Therefore, I am advocating for the following changes:
1. Implement stricter verification processes for all reported incomes, ensuring no false declarations go unchecked.
2. Establish a dedicated task force within the CSA to investigate suspected cases of income fraud.
3. Introduce severe penalties for parents found concealing their earnings to evade child support payments.
4. Prosecution

We need the support of the community to push for these changes, ensuring every child receives the support they rightfully deserve. It is time to hold neglectful parents accountable and protect the interests of our children.

Let’s not allow any more children to suffer simply because the system is being exploited. Please sign this petition to demand action and justice for our children.
