You sit at my bedside
with a smile that lights your eyes
it’s well past five years now  
And it’s always some surprise
For one fleeting moment 
I’m surprised that you are gone 
Or are you still some place 
Where your spirit lingers on? 
Just one fleeting moment 
Where your presence filled my heart 
time became eternal 
Never really torn apart 
You gave me life and light
You inspired me to the end
Wherever could I find
Such a true and loyal friend?
The one that gave me breath
and the force beneath my wings
Just for you dear Mother
I will always soar and sing
